most games I use option #1 notbly more so with gog galaxy 2

though some games I have a desktop icon so sometimes option #2

Always run from launcher. Even more so with GOG Galaxy now.

Trainer comes afterwards, and I activate once I'm in-game (not main menus).

I mostly go for the second option in cases of heavy modding or trying to troubleshoot in some way.
