In fact, 2 weeks is only a small vacation, when you read the dev(1) note you'll realize that the end of next year would be more appropriate:
"There will be one or two smaller patches with more endgame content, but the big one will be a patch with Northern Kingdoms, which I announced some time ago. This will be a huge update with a new gigantic zone, a ton of new content and mechanics, so it will take some time to do it right. The game is finished officially with the Steam version 1.0 and as you could read there's still plenty more patches to come.
