Halo: The Master Chief Collection Message Board  

Im near the last level boss on Halo 2 and have to fight the brute on a circular platform. However if I use Super damage it kills him straight away and there is no cut scene. If I leave this off and use other options, he seems almost invincible and Ive done everything i can to hurt/kill him.

If I leave the trainer off altogether, (i.e. not start the trainer at all) I have noticed, i still have 999 ammo etc and he still seems invincible.

Could the trainer have caused this glitch? and how do I get it back to normal so I can progress with the game?

Try and get it work, it comes up with this
"haloreach.dll" does not exist

I can use the normal Aurora Reach trainer for Reach just fine.
I can use the normal Aurora Halo1 trainer for Halo1 just fine.
Why is the Aurora Halo2 trainer trying to look for Reach's dll?


I have to download the actual separate offline trainer for Halo2 from the site
as that does seem to point to the right dll to work with.
Something is wrong with the Aurora version of the exact same thing.

Make sure you are in the game where you can run around before trying to activate this trainer.

Restarted the game several times and made sure of that each time, its how it did it in Halo reach and CE as well. After about 15 minutes I simply went for the downloadable trainer instead and it worked right away ( although energy weapons ammo did seem a bit wonky and it does run out to 0). Also guy on page 14 of this thread, same issue.

Edit: there was a game update yesterday and it made everything incompatible to begin with.

Edit2 : I got a small 1 min recording of running both the aurora trainer and the normal downloadable trainer. Displaying how Aurora tries to access the wrong .dll and the normal trainer that was working a few days ago being outdated now. ( clip link is in the update request)

can confirm that the online trainer doesnt work. same message as the others who have problems with it.

offline trainer work.

until yesterday, caused by the update. failure message:
"collect super damage 1, script error in line 6: cannot find aob for "superdamage".

didnt try other trainers for halo reach, ce, 3 or 4 but they maybe affected as well.

A couple things about this completely annoying and time consuming COLLECTION of games.

There is like 10 games or whatever. So asking for update of Halo Master Chief Collection means nothing. Maybe it's a specific game that is broken. It's better to request update of THAT.

The game has EAC, and you can run it WITHOUT EAC, but the point is that they don't want people to try and cheat ONLINE. Further they are locking down the achievements over and over. If you want to edit your achievements, go use the steam achievements unlocker, I don't have time to play games month after month with MICROSOFT who are mainly updating ONLINE and ANTI CHEATS in this series of games.

If your trainer is reporting .dll not found, you likely trying to activate the trainer BEFORE you are already in the game. Further if you play one game, then run another, the trainer won't still magically work, you have to close trainer then try again after it re loads. This is a stupid decision by the developers and a unique issue with this title. We have NO CONTROL OVER IT.

Regarding updating 10 games in perpetuity over and over and over, especially if they all are updating regularly and the entire registers being used completely change each patch, this would be an exercise in insanity and futility. I don't have the time to keep up with this series of games and it's insane patches and updates, which AGAIN are mostly updates for online and multiplayer and anti cheats, NOT the single player campaign.

This series is close to being just put on hold or retired completely. It's a never ending battle and I spend hours just REPLYING and posting the same thing over and over. Many issues are due to people not reading the instructions.

SO, with all this said, if you followed the instructions, waited until the game loaded BEFORE you try the trainer, and are using the correct trainer for the correct campaign, and are offline in single player mode, and launched the game without EAC, THEN you tried EACH option and one or more of them isn't working.. it would be great if you posted here THE GAME NAME (campaign) and which exactly options aren't working. Even then, it could take weeks to get throught them all, with more patches happening literally a day later. So no ETA, and I hope this explains more about this game. If there is more posts or more anger and more futility, it just may be that this series gets put down.

thanks for ur effort.
i did read the instructions and followed them over and over again. and i think a lot of others did it too.
i even tried other workarounds/ways that worked for other games. but here it doesnt work! especially the online version of the halo 2 trainer.
or can u explain why the offline trainer did work (at least until the new update) and the online doesnt? same way of activation but two outcomes...so there must be something wrong. but yeah, ur right! maybe we are all to dumb to do it right. at least this is what i read between the words u wrote.

errors can happen. the thing is how to deal with it.
so i dont think there will be an update on this trainer.

PS: i can imagine how annoying it is to update a game because of an update who **** around with the anticheat mechanism and how much time go to waste for a thing that worked fine the other day.
