The custom Steam launcher seems to no longer allow achievements to unlock for me. After restoring the official launcher and re-launching the game my completion achievements popped but not the individual ones (par time/score).
If you restore the original game launcher, of course it will stop achiev's.

Huh? I said that once restoring the original game launcher the achievements popped. They weren't popping with the CH custom launcher.

To be fair, this sounds pretty normal to me. The game starts normally and Steam will say that you are playing it when you do, but it can not communicate the achievements with Steam directly thus you need the original launcher as well.
When you restore the launcher the achievements are unlocked automatically as they are stored in the saves and when you launch the game it will "tell" steam to unlock this and that achievement.
I guess this is something everyone just have to accept and I would not consider it a big issue personally.
Also, I experienced similar things in the past without ever using a trainer for the specific game.

Xbox Live has been down & achievements have been having issues the past week so it's probably just that.
