I tried switching to DX12 and now the game won't even launch lol


Rockstar is sooo garbage man.

What a waste of $60 😭

IS there is any way add Free crafting option ?

including free camp upgraded option ?

Has any one had any luck ?

You can go into you documents folder, ther eis a RDR2 and Settings folder. Open the system xml and put there kSettingAPI_DX12 in the API brackets

I have the same problem on two different machines. If you want to reset so you can play again go into your My Documents folder and delete the Rockstar Games folder then restart the game. It will reset all the settings back to default. (I would make a backup of the Rockstar Games folder just in case)

I hope they patch this game soon so I can play more than five minutes without freezing or crashing...

I've tried a lot of troubleshooting and nothing worked. I've tried DX12, vulkan, changing some hidden graphic option in the settings file via: "asyncComputeEnabled value="true", by default it is set to false. Supposedly it helps, it didn't. I've tried BES, the cpu cycle inhibitor. Didn't help. Turned off anti virus program, didn't help. Fully updated every damn driver as any noob should, which probably helped squeeze out an 8% efficiency gain but still the game randomly crashes.

To start with i had it crashing at launch after a little while i ctrl-alt-del and ended task, with rockstar launcher a window opened to retry exit or safe mode i clicked on safe mode which allowed me to enter the game. Then altered the graphics to native resolution and up to ultra on most settings. The game was randomly crashing between 10mins to an hour however changed api to vulkan with my current other settings maxed havent had trouble since. There are quite a few settings which you really do need to restart game as alot of graphics glitches become very apparant. Not sure if there is a safe mode option after unexpected close on epic but there is one on rockstar. Thought the trainer was causing crashes but the vulkan thing seemed to sort it out. There is a redist folder in the root directory with the latest vulkan "driver" i guess did install that after first crash. Don't know if this will help.

I tested every option to see if they were working and the only option that i see isnt working is infinite stamina. Heres some saves for you guys. Thanks for working hard to bring us great trainers. @Caliber
