Learn how to make your own Trainer Cleaner for the above paths here.
Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and extract it. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again. May also need to run the game without the trainer first and play a bit so the save file gets updated to use possible new values. This typically will resolve the issue.
This cleaner is also part of the new Cheat Happens Trainer Manager 2.0, it is found in the settings and has an easy to use one button click feature.
I did all that to the letter. Then I downloaded trainer manager for the first time and used its cleaner function. Still no luck with option 4, still getting the 'cannot find aob'
All through this the only thing that comes to mind is that the latest trainer version is 1.21.2.1261 and the current game version that I'm running through steam is 1.21.2.1256, and I haven't seen any hotfixes since the 1.0 release.
Are these loaded saves or new games? May need to play a bit with no trainer and resave it to see if the save structure updates to any new addresses the trainer is looking for.
The handful of times I've tried using the new trainer to no avail was with fresh, new starts as I often do when games get big updates. For this game I'd play for about 20-ish minutes or so before even turning the trainer on just to get that same error I just mentioned. I do own the DLC, both the Founder's Pack and the Ultimate Colony Upgrade, but I don't think that to be a contributing factor in this.
