Try launching as Admin from the game directory, not through the epic store.

    Program files/epic store/phoenix point

    Worked for me.

I'm having a bit of trouble getting the trainer to work. That is, anytime I start it, it asks me to install .NET Core. The problem is, I have it installed and the trainer still doesn't work. I've tried running the trainer in administrator mode and with my antivirus turned off, but it still asks me to install .NET Core, which as I've said before, I've already installed. I've repaired the installation once, and I restarted my computer both after installing it and repairing it.

So, if anyone could give any insight as to why this won't work for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

Edit: I'm a moron. I had the wrong version of .NET Core. I got the x86 version instead of the x64 version.

Edit 2: Having the same error as some of the others have had. No solutions thus far have worked for me. Did the above of turning off antivirus, running in administrator on both the game and trainer, which you can only do to the exe in the EpicGames-PhoenixPoint folder, and the steps another poster pointed out.

Having the same problems as some of the other users above. getting an error message that's slightly different: -

21:50:16: Phoenix Point, REVISION 1.0.54580 (EPIC)
    21:50:23: Successfully attached to PhoenixPointWin64
21:50:28: Collect Reset Fatigue Code, Script error in line 1: Cannot find aob for 'Collect_Reset_Fatigue_Code'

On a side note, the older version of the trainer still works for me.
