Hi there, it's been over 3 weeks since the last update. Is there any chance for this game to get an updated trainer?

Trainer is On Hold.
Please take away the edit option for the trainer. I believe that is why it's failing to read the game files. The main options are good enough.
Its failing to read the game files because the trainer is On Hold, as mentioned a few times now, literally above your post as well.

This game appears to be on Hold and the last trainer was in Feb this year.
The trainer may not work as inteaded as it is dectecting there is a game patch.
The only way to stop an editor it to shut down the trainer/editior and then reload your game. But most of the time the edits you do in a game are permanent. Depending on the game. Or if you have used the padlock to freezer an option you just click the padlock and it unfreezes and generally should go back to normal.
