Please make sure you have the following:

Using the second trainer 1.0.1.6 I found rebooting my computer made the trainer work properly. Also make sure you have the required .Net software mentioned by DragonStryder above installed. Reboot then and it should work properly.

Yes. The second trainer 1.0.1.6 works with the Steam version.

Is steam version that older? why does ms store have newer version?
ms store cost 62. Steam 20 bucs.

No idea. I would buy the cheaper version personally. MS might be bundling Metro Last Light with theirs, otherwise no clue why the big price difference unless it's on sale at Steam.
