I have F-Secure installed from Spectrum/Charter. It's a very good security system, but very aggressive. Most of the temp files generated by the trainers when you load it will trigger a block from their software, they will isolate it and delete it and tell you not to worry, it's all taken care of.
The system allows you to specifically exempt any file/folder, but the generated temp files are in some crazy temp directory that triggers an alarm, so there's no way to exclude the temp file from the program, as the name is different every time.
I started a dialog with them about this, and after about two weeks, they confirmed it was a false positive and hinted that they would adjust their settings accordingly.
I had to ftp them their generated zip file, and the next day they replied with the solution.
I hope this encourages others to pursue any troubles with anti-virus; these people were professional, polite, thorough and most of all, open to legitimate exceptions.

It can be a hit or a miss.

Microsoft seems to have the most painless solution in that they provide a form for you to fill out and an analyst will look at it. Every incident I've reported has returned back as false positive and corrected.

On the flip side I used to have Kaspersky and they did the typical run out giving the same instructions that did not work even after evidence was submitted. Their feedback system was completely ineffective and the false positive problem likely still exists today.
    Your bitterness, I will dispel

Here are the 3 I've added to exclusions. So far, they have been the only ones I've ever needed.

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\CH_Temp.tmp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\~Mnn133.tmp
    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\~CheathappensTrainer.tmp

You literally mentioned yourself that you can 'exclude files & folders' in F-Secure.

Exclude the "Work" folder where the tmp files for our most current trainers are located. Job done.

Great - I will try adding those folders, but I do not understand the file name references, as I have watched the temp file be generated and each time it has a different number at the end of its name, so I can't be as specific as your entries; thanks.

You don't need to exclude the tmp files but only the folder where they are created in -> Work folder. Everything this folder contains is excluded from any AV scans.

Some older trainers create their tmp file in the Windows Temp folder but those file names don't change and can be excluded with a file exclusion.

um, there was a problem, in that the reporter program does not list the path. This new PC I have has a strange user name from the seller, and programs sometimes attach to that user and sometimes to mine. I asked but got no answer from the vendor, and I suspect that the Windows license that it came with is somehow tied to that user account, so I can't just delete it.
I'll try listing all users' folders with that path...

    C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp\CH_Temp.tmp
is not where the offending files are listing, they are in
    C:\Usrs\username\cheathappens\Work\Runtime\~CheathappensTrainer4716.tmp

    etc.
