Try waiting until you in a game and the assets/values have loaded in, maybe go in and out of a few screens/menus and then activate it.
I tried it in a game as well. During a game in the office right at the beginning and during a task you have to finish (during a job). Even after first and second task (before, while doing it and afterwards when you are back at your office). Same result. Startet also new game and tired over.
Maybe this will help if windows is trying to use previous created trainer files.
Please delete the trainer, custom keys, debug folder where the trainer resides and all files in
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and extract it. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again. May also need to run the game without the trainer first and play a bit so the save file gets updated to use possible new values. This typically will resolve the issue.
This cleaner is also part of the new Cheat Happens Trainer Manager 2.0, it is found in the settings and has an easy to use one button click feature.
Have tried the above. Also changed even the currency in the game from US to EUR and some others but didnt help. Changed back to US (default one).
However Im now trying to play a bit more and get all the tools while doing the tasks and try the trainer again. Maybe it takes some time. Will post results.
Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

I submitted an update request, and the reply I got in return was "It's working fine". It's obviously not working fine if the trainer is producing an error and won't attach to the game.
It's an odd procedure to straight-up tell a client that the product is working, when it's obviously not, wouldn't you agree? 🙈🙉🙊
