Would it be possible to automate the last stages of the trainer manager?
I am hopeful that the TM could unpack the trainer into the right place, or read the trainers from the zip file.

Would something like this be possible?

It already has this functionality.

From the readme:

Trainers Will Automatically Unzip/Update if Zipped File is Downloaded to Trainers Folder

When downloading a new trainer or updated trainer, if you choose to save the .zip file in your My Trainers folder, the Trainer Manager will automatically unzip the trainer and add it to your trainer list or overwrite/update the previous version as long as the trainer .exe had the same name. If it causes a duplicate due to naming issues, you can simply right click and delete the old version. If you do not wish to use this functionality then simply do not save zip files in your My Trainers folder. Note that you can also manually copy zipped trainer files into your My Trainers folder and it will have the same effect. This feature may also be diasabled through the settings page.
