If you have Win 10, you do have Window's Defender a/v included. Add the folder CoSMOS is located in to the exclusions list and turn off controlled folder access under the virus & threat protection settings.

It remains as a process as long the startup logo is visible, after the logo is gone so is the process.

Is this a fresh install (never used any version of CoSMOS before)
an install that already has the advanced mode installed
or did you uninstall a previous version and install the beginner?

So far, I am not able to reproduce what is happening to you, I would recommend deleting your entire temp folder C:\Users\usernamehere\AppData\Local\Temp and maybe getting a program like ccleaner to analyze and clean unneeded files on your PC, plus a quick scan of the registry would not hurt either.

i have the advanced version currently installed. I was trying that to see if it works since the Beginner version was not working. i deleted the temp folder and ran advanced system care to do a registry check and delete unwanted files. I also updated my drivers. It still does not startup. I don't know if this helps but i have these programs active in the background:

    -Steam
    -Discord
    -Corsair Utility Engine
    -Advanced System Care
    -Nvidia Geforce Experience

I made a video of what happens: youtu.be/iFN-Rwf-8-E

Reproduce the crash and then press Win+R and type in 'eventvwr' without quotes and hit return. It will open the event viewer. On the left side click open Windows Protocols and then Software. Look for the crash entry, select it and copy the log in the bottom. Send it to 0x90@cheathappens.com or write it into a TXT file, zip the file and attach it.
