I have the same problem as Drelex. Window 10 pro. I can run other cheat trainers no problem. It is not the antivirus/security software, otherwise it would not pop up window to ask for what software to use it to open (.tmp file).
I think we are missing some kind window files that needed it to work.

Please disable/uninstall all antivirus, firewall and other security software including browser addons and extensions. Right click "Run as Administrator" on trainer and game. Please note that some security products may still block access to trainer injection even when disabled and must be completely uninstalled. If this is the case, please contact the product vendor for instruction on the proper way to prevent the trainers from being blocked by their software or find a better alternative.

Extract trainer and make sure trainer/launcher/editor is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed or set anything trainer related (paths and EXE's) to ALLOW. Disable any Live/Active/Real-Time tools which may trigger false positives in security software that may terminate the game/trainer when it's activated or options used.

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Click and select "Run as Administrator", read the instructions and try again.

I have Kaspersky Total Security and had the same issue, even adding an exception to the .exe it would not run (Firefox would run trying to open the .tmp file the trainer creates) and then Kaspersky would clean, disinfect and reboot the computer.

I added the entire "work" folder as a FULL exclusion, basically told Kaspersky to ignore anything that happens in that folder, works fine now.

Yesterday I played normally with trainer and mods no problem ... Today I crash to desktop when I press esc with the trainer activated. When the trainer isn't activated I have no problem ... mind you I can load the trainer, but after pressing F1 and esc it crashes it just freezes for a few seconds and then ctd's (the game).

I tried several things disabled all internet security, run as administrator .... wait a second I had an content update for windows today ... maybe it's that. I'll report back asap.

Hmm I removed KB5003690, however servicing stack 10.0.1941.1081 can't be removed for some reason

I suspect the servicing stack update is the culprit for some reason it can't be removed oh well till that time I just play on narrative.

Verify the game files, clean any old trainer data, play a new game and try it or play with no trainer, re-save then try it again with the trainer.

Please delete the trainer, custom keys, debug folder where the trainer resides and all files in

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Local\Temp
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens\Work
C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Cheat Happens\0x90
C:\ProgramData\CheatHappens

Reboot PC to clear excess memory, get a fresh copy of latest trainer and extract it. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again. At times, a new game may be needed to resolve failed options if the data in your save file was altered. Use on a new game and test the option. If it now works, quit to main menu and load your save and try it again. May also need to run the game without the trainer first and play a bit so the save file gets updated to use possible new values. This typically will resolve the issue.

Did it to the letter still crashes to desktop on pressing esc the weird thing is it functions normally if not pressing esc every option works, but pressing esc is a ctd. problem is all menu's are under the esc button ....

For now I gonna catch some sleep I will look further int it tomorrow (it's atm 1 am here).

Remove Mods one by one, if any of them updated it could be the cause. Myself I would re-install the vanilla version (no mods at all)) and test it first.

problem is the problem occurred from 1 day to the next without ANY alterations in mods. I played Wednesday hours on end closed the game and yesterday wham this problem no mods removed added or updated. All mods are from Nexusmods.

I haven't seen this either, however I doubt it's mod related in this case. I can test if it does it in vanilla ... (frosty modmanager)

edit it seems mod related sorry just tested it ... vanilla ok, load with frosty modmanager (without any mods active) ok Now to find the culprit ... 🙁
