Thanks --- I think? Not sure why one of your coders said he was the only coder, but okay. I hope the other coders are OK with that. I'd hate to be at the next all-hands meeting.
Still, though, I think the comms could be improved here. Obviously, one of the coders is frustrated and burnt out. And rightfully so, NMS is a maddening game with its hourly updates. The right thing to do is pause trainer development until the patches settle, and communicate that. Make sure everyone knows it's just temporary. People who use mods see this all the time, and it's entirely normal.
And then maybe make sure coders are not overworked to the point of being so frustrated.
NEVER let the employees vent against the customers in public. Worse, have them threaten to take away the service.
At the end of the day, it's a company and you can do whatever you want. For me, though, the NMS trainer in particular was why I paid for Lifetime. I had assumed paid users were in the minority, so I didn't have much say, but looking at the link you just posted ("3.5 million registered users" I am starting to have less sympathy. A good portion of those MUST be paying at least a little.
So maybe there's money in the budget to give the guys a vacation, and let them de-stress offline.
This is our house and we will tend to it, thanks. The person you are referring to is not just another employee, he owns the site. If he is so on the edge, he has more than the means to do something about it.

Or maybe games like this will simply have to be treated differently, since they consume so much time and patch too often and the changes are drastic, which is why we put things on hold, put them lower in the queue.
I've explained the issues with this title and how it will be treated and why.
It's really very simple. This site isn't No Man's Sky Happens, it's Cheat Happens and there is 10000 other titles we have to support, and it's simply going to have to be that some games that are never ending broken and patching time sinks will have to be treated differently.

Cal
Wait... what?? Now I'm concerned. The site charges a fee for access levels (I've got Lifetime), so I just assumed they found coders to work on specific titles, and passed on a portion of the revenue to them.
You're saying there's only ONE coder (yourself?) with one other person, all to work on 10,000 titles?
Clearly this is an issue of resources, then. If you're selling memberships, there need to be enough resources to provide the service. One-and-a-half coders can't be expected to create trainers for 10,000 games "with new titles every day." That business model cannot sustain itself. If this is true, I'm surprised you lasted this long.
I don't want to make your day worse, but obviously, this isn't sustainable. Not to mention, you'll personally wind up in the hospital from stress.
LOL.. If my workload is news to you after almost two decades of doing this practically alone or with a few coders who have been hired to help the workload at times, welcome to the party!
We are able to handle it, in fact I am doing better than "teams" at other websites which are woefully behind on many titles and support.
NOBODY puts out and maintains more content in game trainers than Cheathappens. NOBODY. Period. And we been doing it longer, better, copied from, and more reliable than any other source. It's why we charge for what we do. "Sustainable" isn't the issue here, it's games that destroy an entire workday. We cannot "sustain" that even with massive teams. This game will continue to get support, just understand that its not the only trainer here and that it has some tendencies that cause issues. You are lucky at times that "other sources" of trainers even update theirs at all within a week on some games. Not to mention hiring "coders" doesn't ensure that they have any clue on how to reverse games, and do what we do here. It's a very niche and can be a complex thing to do this, not to mention YES there is a lot of work and people better be ready to WORK, and constantly, and day in and day out.
What doesn't help if we are tied up with complaints about our decisions when it's clear why they are made. I appreciate you being a member here, I hope you can appreciate why we make certain decisions.

Cal
We are going to watch this title for a bit as they patch it for the next week, they are on 3 patches so far the last 24 hours
