It's since been proven that there is absolutely NO multiplayer.
Sean Murray was lying about it.

Two live streamers managed to get to the same spot on the same planet in the same system... and could not interact in any way. They couldn't even see each other.

That would mean it's a single player game with a shared discovery board list. I wonder if it did tag the other players discovery of those locations. Much of the income is tied to reporting newly discovered places.


TBH I prefer it this way. No more jumping maniacs trying to grief your game.
