I'm having a weird issue with the trainer. I downloaded the one for Steam/Epic/Gog one as I have the game on Epic Store. When I try to run the trainer, the CH logo appears, but unlike other users, instead of hearing a beep, it tries to launch uTorrent instead. I have whitelisted the file in Windows Defender, I added the folder to it as well. Nothing happens except it tries to launch uTorrent. Windows Defender doesn't say a thing, nor do I get it blocked when downloading.

Anything else I should try? It only happens with this trainer, my other ones run with no issues.

Try resetting default apps. Also , just using defender or any other security?

Step 1: Launch the Trainer
Step 2: Launch the Game
Step 3: Press F1 to activate the game

Expected results:
Game trainer announces "trainer activated"

Current results:
Trainer crashes without warning.

Followed the steps in the troubleshooting section (clearing files, checking version of .NET, disabling AV

Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.

Since yersterday I always get this message from Microsoft Defender:

Behavior:Win32/CredentialAccess.Q!ml

and

Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml


I never had this before. I used your trainer since 3 years and never got anything like that. The last message with Trojan I got today as I downloaded the new Trainer for KC.

Anyone can help me?

Anti-virus update daily and always find a new false positive when it does. Methods of how a trainer works are similar to the way a virus is introduced to a system so it's going to flag it until they get enough reports that the file is in fact safe to use. Nothing to worry about, all the trainers here are 100% safe.

Extract trainer and make sure trainer/launcher/editor is in a folder excluded from virus scans. Empty quarantine folder if needed or set anything trainer related (paths and EXE's) to ALLOW. Disable any Live/Active/Real-Time tools which may trigger false positives in security software which may terminate the game/trainer when it's activated or options used.

C:\Users\USERNAMEHERE\Cheathappens

may need to be added to exclusions as well. Run trainer as admin, read the instructions and try again.

Even though this thread is 'older', I just stumbled upon this issue as well.

With a standard Windows 2010 installation running only Windows Defender as anti virus solution and only if you trust CHEATHAPPENS and their trainer authors, you need to do the following:

a) to check if Windows Defender is your problem:
follow Microsoft Support instructions Link

b) whether a) is true or not - turn Windows Defender on again; right now

c) Now we come to the mitigation process:
1) follow Microsoft Support instructions Link

see two for the paths you need to add to the exclusion. So far I found that C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Cheathappens seems secure enough, however, you may want to use C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Cheathappens\Work instead.

%username% is your username used by Windows to save your profile.

Second, you want to exclude the drive and path your TrainerManager is running from (see the TrainerManager settings if you don't it).

Last and least, you might want to exclude the location you have your Trainers stored to...

or

2) use PowerShell (in Admin mode!):
Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Cheathappens" -Verbose
Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath "YOURDEVICE:\TrainerManager" -Verbose

That's it, changes are working immediately.
