I know, I know... what's the point of playing these games without the monsters. I know I'm not alone in this, but I just enjoy the story and atmosphere without having the monsters. I can't explain it but I get just as much pleasure just roaming around with the creepy atmosphere. I enjoyed both amnesia games with removed monsters and I was wondering if anyone knows how to do it in this game? The monsters don't appear to have a specific folder like they did in previous amnesia games, and I've been messing around a bit and haven't figured what 'entities' are the monsters. If anyone figures it out if you could let me know, I'd be your friend forever. Thanks in advance.

If you already encountered a monster you can try to rename the flesher folder inside character folder.I just looked into the level editor and I think that these are the enemies: Cocoon, devil, flesher, robothead and there is some patchwork_man but I dont know if he is the enemy.

Thanks for the suggestions, I tried to rename the 'flesher' folder before as well because I noticed some files inside such as 'hears player' and 'kills player' that lead me to the same conclusion. Unfortunately the first monster you encounter in the game was still there. Spoiler:
The patrolling robot you encounter in the Upsilon base.
I might have just done it wrong or something. I plan on messing around with it some more today, but again thanks for the suggestions, I didn't even know there was a god mode.

does someone have a savegame they could put online some where for me to download and then send me link via PM?
this would save time so I dont have to play the game 1000 hours to see the first monster or whatever.
1. where is the save folder 2. multiple saves with multiple monsters is helpful 3. can the save be right where the monster is so i dont have to wander looking for it?

Note that if you do this, make sure to set it to false at a certain point... don't want to spoil anything, but when your elevator breaks and you use the floor hatch. There is a scripted encounter which god mode in the cfg breaks.
In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'

Move all folders in the Flesher folder to a newly created folder on your desktop. Don't rename any folders, just move them - but Flesher must remain in SOMA directory just in case. Relaunch game. Enjoy monster free experience.
For the most part.
Right, I've come back to this post because I've discovered a few things. 1) Not all the monsters are in the Fleshers folder. Some exist in other directories - typically ending in 'infected'- if it sounds like it might be horrid to encounter it, then it probably is a monster. 2) Removing the monster directories is sometimes not sufficient. I don't know where the matrix monster is hidden in the directories, but it was still there when I had to go and reset the server. 3) If you do remove directories containing monsters in the game's directory, you MUST keep them somewhere else at ALL times. The reason for this is that there will be times in the game - there will be probably more than one occasion (I dunno as I haven't finished the game yet), where an encounter of an unpleasant kind is needed to progress to the next part of the level or next part of the plot within that level.
