I have had my current SSD, Samsung 830 250gb, in my computer for about 3 1/2 years. It is starting to give me some random errors. So before I do the free Windows 10 upgrade, I am looking to purchase a new SSD. While I would like to purchase the a 256gb Samsung 850 Pro, but at 7,150 baht ($238) it is out of my price range, Here are the choices available to me here in Thailand that are in my price range.

    AMD Radeon R7 240gb - 5,190 baht ($173)
    OCZ Vertex 460A 240gb - 4.890 baht ($163)
    Plextor M6Pro 256gb - 5,650 baht ($189)
    Intel 730 240gb - 4,490 baht ($150)
    Kingston Hyper X Savage 240gb - 4,150 baht ($140)

Has anyone had any experience with the drives listed? Which drive do you all suggest? Thank you all for any advice and information!

I would wait a few months, there is new tech for SSDs coming out, and it may drive down prices.
Oh and Don't forget some tuts on ASM and defeating DMA

Some random errors doesnt necessarily mean your ssd is failing, first of all make sure that that's the case, there are many tools that can help you with that.
Second I recommend you to save a little bit more and buy a pci-e based ssd, you wont regret it.
Note: if you do go for the pci-e ssd make sure your MB supports booting from such a drive, because your MB is a bit old it might not but there are workarounds.

Thank you both DABhand and Kingbob for your replies. I am not looking to do anything tomorrow with the SSD. It has to wait until after I renew my Visa to stay in Thailand next month.

@kingbob: Can you give me an example of the tools that I can use? I do not want to replace the drive if I do not have to.

Just pick, I recommend the first one: Hdtune trial version offers you all the tools.

If you don't have it set to be on, make sure you do this from a command prompt

    fsutil behavior set disabledeletenotify 0

    That sets TRIM on

And also make sure you have write caching on

You can do that by right clicking on My Computer then Properties, then Device Manager and finding your SSD from the HDD list and going to it's properties and hopefully a policies tab on the window that pops up.

Set to Better Performance, if it is not turned on. Some brands have it on by default as Write Caching.

Also, make sure you change your power options to High Performance. Right click on the desktop and goto personalize and then screen saver.
