Have you tried running the Windows Update troubleshooter?

    Hi Neo,

Yeh man, Its continually finding different errors everytime, im at a loss. Im thinking of just going alley ooop and wiping the drive completely, either that or wait and see if I can get help from the microsoft themselves.

Not at all, i've never reset the Bios, but i'll check the bios date in the menu. The error I was getting was that the updates had failed reverting changes, now with the windows diagnostic etc, its picking up new errors everytime i run it.

Maybe something you installed previously was causing the system to be a bit cagey. 8.1 is still early days technically. But glad it is ok now.

I did not check this thread. In the future there is one final troubleshooting tool known as the System Update Readiness Tool. Normally this is a download through Microsoft's website and it installs like an update. In Windows 8, this was built into the Deployment Image Servicing and Managing Tool which can be ran through an Administrator Command Prompt.

To run it next time enter these two commands:

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

It's also a much stronger version of the SFC tool which relied on protected storage that contained a copy of critical system files (if they were also corrupted, you were SOL). DISM connects to Microsoft and will download an official source if it needs to replace a corrupt one.
    Your bitterness, I will dispel
