I just want to say ive been using the trainer offline both pre and post vac update and havent had a problem. I also make sure ive never had more souls than my soul memory walue or level up past what i should be. Knowing how bad From is at this pc stuff im pretty sure as long as its not obvious they will never detect it.
Edit: when i go online i still get summons and invaded. Red invasions are rare right nowe but sin and go near cathedral blue invasions all day everyday. Same with belltower and grey invasions to good places to test how connected you are.

Edit2 Also another thought thats unrelated to banning the covenant of champians in the starting area removes white summon signs from your game as long as your in it some people dont realise that.

I've been using the trainers alot and mp have been turning off invulnerability and stamina etc. However, how would people know who you are, unless your character name was the same as your steam name?

Steam can probably trace it back.

I also can't play MP anymore.

you can't MP anymore? but senior said VAC ban is delay from 2weeks - 1 month.
if you cheat in MP recently you suppose to get ban in next 2 weeks isn't it???

They report the charater. Which is then connected to your Game ID which is in your library. So they know which account is doing it.

it's possible that ppl pick the same name like "eric" i'm sure there's a lot of that name.

Wow. I am so worried I am going to get a Vac Ban. I was using the trainer a lot, never in MP. Actually if someone went MP I would just let them kill me.

I have not loaded the game in a few days as I am afraid of even playing the game now.

I must say this is really lame of steam. I don't get why I can't play a solo game I paid for how I want.

I'll post if I get a ban as well.

Well on a brighter note you will only get a vac ban for dark souls 2. Unless you cheat on one of the following games:

Counter-Strike: Source
Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
Day of Defeat: Source
Team Fortress 2
Cheating in one of the following Gold Source games will result in a VAC ban for all games in the list:
Counter-Strike
Condition Zero
Ricochet
Day of Defeat
Team Fortress Classic
Half-Life: Deathmatch
Deathmatch Classic

I could care less about a dark souls 2 ban. But a Vac Ban on dota 2 makes me want to shed a tear. lol.
