'These days'? I think that is being misused.

    And no.

I too agree there are still few games that attract me on either the third Xbox ,or PS4 for that matter (-did- pick them up though. ..but until the -real- blockbusters that attract me appear (RPGs!) I can't really tear myself away from the computer much.

the new Xbox is a great improvement imho though (happy both PS4 and XB...3 (I swear Microsoft can't count!) went with x86 architecture)

I have an XBone. Dead Rising 3 is really what sold me on it in the end. Dead Rising is one of my favorite series.

I'm really enjoying it. It's a fantastic media center, and the games are beautiful. I'm still waiting on an official driver for my controller so I can use it on my laptop when I'm at school or on the go to play games. I think I like this one more than the 360 design.

I haven't looked into the XBone in extreme detail, but does it have a traditional, handheld controller? Can you play most of the games without their stupid kinect crap or are you forced to use it? Do you even have to have the kinect thing hooked up or is that an optional piece of hardware?

A friend of mine worked for MS and was doing some QA junk with the kinect technology so they gave him one for free. I was able to try it out soon after its initial release and I absolutely HATED it. It was clunky and awkward, the sensor didn't detect your movement correctly or it thought you made the motion for a different command. Besides that, it really made you feel like an idiot especially if you had headphones on because you looked like some sort of hyperactive monkey having an aneurism trying to work the stupid thing.

TBH, if kinect isn't an optional piece of hardware or you are forced to use it for some (or all) of the games, it's definitely a deal-breaker for me.

No, For every game i've played so far you dont have to use the kinect, It appears to be purely optional so far.
