Is anyone able to lend me a hand here?
I'm running Windows 8.1 on a laptop - high end.
    Quad Core 3.6 Ghz
    Nvidia 745M 2GB
    8GB RAM
    About 6 weeks old.
    Using CH trainer manager.
    Disabled firewall.
    Disabled AV.
    Uninstalled/disabled IE 11.
    No modifications.
No pirated games: all from Steam or Origin.
My offline key worked fine for my last PC running Windows 7.
Offline key does not appear to be functional in Window 8.1.
Have tried key located with trainers in My Trainers per the Trainer Manager instructions.
Have put Trainer and key in folder with selected game.
Have put key in My Trainers Folder with Trainers.
Have put key in Documents folder alone.
Have put key on Desktop alone.
Have excepted all trainers, trainer manager, offline key,.chk,- all to no avail.
Is offline key not compatible with Windows 8.1?
Please help if you can. I hope I have provided all of the needed information.

Thank you PWiz. I just wish I could figure out what is keeping it from working on my PC. Thank you for the swift reply.

remember that it only works if the internet/network connection is completely disabled/absent. you also need to right click run as admin on trainer. make sure you have a new key after updating windows.

Got it, PWiz. In case anyone else has this issue: turn off your firewall and AV temporarily. Go DIRECTLY to CH, so you avoid any malware, viruses, etc. Download and activate the Offline Key Maker, and the key that it makes. Make exceptions for the objects/folders in your AV.

Put them where you need them (be sure to save a copy somewhere in case you do something that makes you lose the one you are actually using.) Disconnect from the WWW. Set all of your trainers to Run as Administrator and whatever compatibility mode necessary for your OS.

At that point make sure your key is in with the trainers themselves (for some reason, in 8.1, that was the only placement that worked for me, your mileage may vary).Attempt to run your trainer. If you are in Win8 or 8.1 - give SmartScreen permission to run the trainer, and give Admin privilege when it pops up too. You are now able to re-connect to the WWW if you so desire. Your trainer should run, and be authenticated by the Offline Key. I hope this helps.

P.S. I have found that it also helps to run your games in Compatibility (if needed) and Admin mode, to insure the Trainer and the Game can fully interact.

Thanks again, PWiz. That reminds me that I forgot to put that in my little note. YES. Get a new key if you reboot, change PC, switch OS, update Windows via the Windows/Microsoft Updater, etc. Your old one will be keyed to the old system settings and will not work until you generate a NEW one.
