I've recently used the Assassins Creed Black Flag trainer Link and in the option file it says to deactivate the options when not in use, this might be a bit of a silly/idiotic question but how do I do that, I pressed the button again in an attempt to deactivate but all I get is activated not deactivate

You can deactivate all options (except the editor options) by pressing the hotkey again. If it continue says "activated" you may hold the button too long. You can also try out the virtual keyboard that comes with windows perhaps something is interfering with your keyboard.
