Microsoft self-extermination. compared to PS4 it's an epic fail.

Of course Micro$oft always has it's way to take every penny out of your pocket as it can... but i think it's gonna worth the gameplay

Used game fee is the price of a full game.
Only need to online check once a day, but if that fails, your console locks up completely until next check period.
Requires Kinect to work. Of course, we all know what a rousing success Kinect was and how well it works.
XB1 includes TV and internet... but only if you buy an optional peripheral.
No backwards compatibility.
Zero plans to update old games to work on new hardware (unlike Sony, who will be converting old games to work via the cloud).

Also, Sony's stock climbed 15% during the XB1 conference.

Now, Microsoft is set to 'revolutionize' the market by cutting the consumer's middle finger off and showing it to the poor bastard.

(In the interest of balance: The PS4 really has nothing over the XB1 at the moment.)

Backwards compatability isn't a deal breaker for me, I'm happy enough keeping my 360 around. Beats it gathering dust somewhere, and the fact is there's no logical reason to stop using an older console just because a new one is released.

I approve of the look, I put skins on my consoles and that will skin so nicely with the flat edges. The fact that Kinect is built in gains my approval as well, since it's getting incorporated into more and more games it's the least they could do to have it from the beginning.

My only potential gripe is whether or not it's going to be restrictive over if there's an internet connection or not, I dislike anything that makes it a requirement for anything that's not streaming/multiplayer/etc.
