DA2 wasn't rushed it was what the majority wanted and then they cried about it when they got it. So the game has returned more to its roots but with a difference.

DA:I will be open world similar to Skyrim but different, it will sport huge multiplayer battles from large field platoon type battles to siege battles.

And yeah it is using the new frostbyte engine, which is being used for many types of genre to introduce new features, the first game showing this off will be Fifa 14, followed by NBA 2K14.

The dev team (myself included) are working on getting something for the Spike Game Awards at the end of the year.

Comparatively, DA2 was pretty rushed. DA:O had a solid five years in development as a spiritual successor (of sorts) to BioWare's previous fantasy games, and the work and soul they put into it in those five years was quite apparent. DA2... didn't. Skyheart would probably shoot me for another rant about it, but long story short, DA2 was aimed at a completely different type of RPG player than DA:O was, and I'm to the opinion it suffered greatly for it.

Keeping my hopes in check this time around, but it'd be nice for BioWare to make a good comeback after the ME3 controversies and the disappointment with TOR/DA2.

Well i tend to agree with DABhand here having played both games and all DLC many times in all honesty DAO had many bugs i find unacceptable in a game with a 5yr Dev cycle TBH on the whole it was fairly well put together trouble was DAO became very boring very fast the skill tree was needlessly complex and the combat was tedious at best and don't get me started on the Fade/Deep Roads sections and then there was the warden who was silent which made the whole choosing a voice pointless as you never hear it and couple that with the statue like expressionless face.

DA2 on the other had vast improvements in every aspect the skill tree was much improved as was the combat especially for the mage class.I liked Hawke's story better due to it not being the over used 1 man saves the world from the big bad evil.....again it gets tedious after awhile DA2 did drop the ball in a few places like the darkspawn design and left a slightly large Gap between the 4 chapters and the final battle did seems tacked on for the sake of it rather than because it was needed but other than that and overall improvement. and the Quality of the DA2 DLC's was much better than most of the DAO DLC's

The only thing that wasn't spent time on much was the dungeons and caves, as they were repetitive. But the character models etc were a vast improvement as was the story line also.

DA2 was also at the time when Origin was more present than before, and people just looked for any reason to hate EA, like they do every year.

Just like people hate Blizzard every year, and Deep Silver, and Konami, and.... you get the idea. There is always a group of people who just aren't satisfied.

    Opinion.

That's what I like about humans because for me DA2 was superior in every way save for: Reusable dungeons, (in my artistic/visual opinion) too cartoonish character faces.

Special mention for the combat, which I liked by far more the DA2 one than DAO's.
