I noticed the same problems (Instant Research and Ship Building not working, the rest works), and have now reported it as suggested (and I hope I don't get a point deduction for that, as the game technically hasn't updated).

Have you downloaded our latest trainer, released today?

Good for health, bad for education.

Taurus is correct, the newest trainer fixes this, just tested it myself.

Who cares how you play the game, winning is all that matters.

I did notice that the trainer had updated again during the time you two responded here, and quickly withdrew my trainer-update request.

I have now tested the trainer and can confirm that the problem is fixed indeed.

I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank the Cheat-Happens team for the quick Trainer fix.

so for whatever reason, the developers have moved to a completely new engine.. this will have to be worked on from scratch. no eta, and no idea if the same options will be possible. Why they do this after 7 years when adding a DLC, I have no idea

    FYI,

To be fair, the old engine was showing its age and its... not too fantastic quality - e.g. how it handled memory (pretty important seeing it's limited to 32-bit address space) meant crashes galore, especially on larger maps and/or with mods.

Whether this has actually fixed any of the glaring issues, however (it's still a 32-bit engine), hard to say yet.

They should really got to a SoaSE 2 rather than patch this thing up more though. But I'm grateful that they're not completely forgetting it either, and I hope you can get something sorted! Fully understandable if not, it's an old title with probably not the biggest playerbase. EDIT: Cheers for the update! Will try it out later!

Well its Xmas time, good time to sell a minor DLC to bring in some more moolah on a known product that still has quite a player-base. Why innovate after all.

I am really torn on this one. On one hand it is nice, albeit unusual, to see Ironclad/Stardock support their game almost 11 years after release. On the other hand I agree with other users here... Releasing a brand new game instead of updating (well, perhaps *complete overhaul* is more appropriate) should be the way to go.

Nevertheless I've already bought the DLC which makes it kind of a moot point. Now all I hope for is a trainer update whenever you guys can get around to it.

    Wish y'all a Merry Xmas.

    Cheers.

    Well, that was super fast!!

Just came here cause I was debating getting the DLC for this old game that I'd spent many many hours in.

    You guys rock!
