Im still deciding whether to get it or not... The thing is I hate the payment system and how its MMO.... Wish it was single player like KOTOR...

If you're in the head start, it's all you're getting. Beta events generally only covered specific bits of the game, though.

I got my Collector's Edition yesterday, and I'm honestly having a pretty good bit of fun with the game. It's a bit of a mindscrew though - you're pretty much expected to know exactly what to do, (i.e. have played any other MMO before) but lacks even basic functionality like exporting UI profiles and such that a seasoned MMO player would expect in any bog-standard game.

It's not an impressive game - impressive design, yes, but not an impressive game. Pulling off personal story arcs in an MMO is nothing short of a design miracle.

I dunno. I'm biased. I expect every game that launches - MMO or not - to be as refined as Rift was. So I can't quite put a yay or nay on this one yet. I'm enjoying it, but I also got the CE for $40 so I'm in no position to complain.

Well I'll throw my two cents in.

First off. Its a insane design idea. you basically have your own personal story set out in the game.

You can have, at any time, other players join your story.

Your character becomes Unique as you progress. In that your character becomes you. Its basically all the fun 'write your story' function that Mass effect, Knights of the old republic, and Dragon age had. *add more if you know of them*

Its got all the things that made wow good. well, not all. a lot of the things but not all. PVP is still iffy. but it doesn't release till tomorrow, and people are focusing on the story and leveling.

the flashpoints are basically instances and there are several 'Heroic' quests which entail either being a high level or going in a group.

personally, and I mean this for me. I like it. Its good, its got a decent start and it picked a good subject to follow. There are alot of starwars nerds and nerdetts that will enjoy this game. Even if its only for a little bit.

there are collectables, you get a ship. and your given free roam *within reason of course* to explore the galaxy after the first part of the story.

I say if you like wow, you MIGHT like SWTOR.

its worth looking into.


thats MY personal opinion. and i've been playing through all the betas and i have been in early access since the 13th.

I took part in BETA testing this game, and for me personally did not like it,but if you are a fan of World of Warcraft the setup in size of the characters seemed the same,i think that EA are trying to get a biggy like the above mentioned.

I also do not play on-line as i have said before, just could not refuse the invitation, for me i would watch as much as you can on You Tube before you all go out and spend your money.lol

Didn't get the beta,but,i pre-ordered the CE.And,i got early accsess.I think it's fun so far,and i love the story on your own character.It puts a more personal feeling to your character IMO.

Havent picked up my CE yet.Going to to tomorrow.It's just as well the first night of launch is always laggy and full.
And,in case you guys didn't know this...If you pre-ordered the game and got the yellow crystal for your lightsaber,KEEP IT.It is no longer offered in-game at any vendors.Plus,the black and yellow lightsaber looks cool.

actually they put the vendors back in. i just bought a bunch for 10 creds a piece. i think the republic side has the issue of not having the vendor but its easy to find on the sith side.

So far I am enjoying it. If I could, I would prefer it to be a single player but in this game you can have a single player type story while allowing you to participate it group events if you wish.
