Am I the only one who thinks that its funny how trainers don't lock achievements? Most devs will say that cheats are not being put in because of things like achievements and persistent stat tracking. And because they limit access to things like dev consoles we the cheaters look to things like trainers to help regain control over the game. Maybe I'm wrong but it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to simply leave the single player cheats intact while locking achievements and leader-boards.

The game isn't really that difficult even on the highest setting, so cheats aren't really necessary.

Including cheats in this game also would have gone against what seems to be the Eidos Montreal's ideal for this particular game, which is that modification potential should be at or close to zero - even the settings and profile files are encrypted. Nothing in the game folder is editable without reverse engineering the file structure.

Personally, I think for this particular game letting people cheat seems to go against the nature of the game itself. The beauty of this series has always been about finding ways to circumvent difficult situations - what's the point of coming across a tricky puzzle if you can just cheat your way past it?

Yup, this is exactly why I didn't use trainers on my first run-through. Even now, looking at the trainer's features, there's not really anything that I think should be changed about the game.

i doubt every thing being encrypted is to stop ppl cheating at there game and more to help combat pirates and as for it not needing mods well you could say that of most games but i for one would love to see what the modding community could come up with for it (deus exhr).
Its current lack of modification potential just show that game company's as a "whole" want us to keep buying there rubbish 5 dollar dlc cough dragon age2 cough

I play for the storylines only, so i cheat my way through it, i just don't see the point in challenges, it just bores me to death.

The only time i do not agree with it and think its outright pathetic is when its against other players and i am glad this site creates the trainers for single player use only and i respect that about them.

Its like Starcraft 2, i would personally use the cheat codes on difficult missions, but they disabled achievements on all levels after the level that you cheat on, i do NOT agree with that.

You realize you're promoting to not cheat on a site dedicated to cheating in games, right?

I like to cheat, and I cheat in a lot of games not because I /have/ to. I've been playing games since I was a kid, I can beat most games without cheats, given enough time. It's just more fun for me to cheat when I play. And he's right, they don't encrypt it this heavilly to prevent cheating. Look at Deus Ex 1 AND 2, both /came/ with cheat codes coded directly into the game for people to do all kinds of things from god mode and no clipping to summoning ALL weapons in the game in a straight line.

They don't have anything against cheating, it's all just to stop piracy which a lot of game companies are working hard towards.

As for what the first person posted, I used this trainer and never had ANY of my achievements fail to unlock. I'm only missing about 16 of them, most of which were secret ones I missed.

No matter how easy the game is, i think it is normal if constumer demands any trainer game (tetris trainer? ) or did i miss something? cmiiw

I play with two saves one for no cheats at all and one for cheats. Why? Cause I want to feel both sides. Yeah call me greedy but its my cake and am having it all. Sometimes when I can beat a game on hard or nightmare with out cheats. I look at everyone else who dosent even bother am like come on. At least do what I do. Now to modding. Meh the old ways will soon be pushed out and the modding wont happen no more. Compaines have took heed to this and are working on making it so you have to buy there stuff. To pirates. HA! They wont stop __ or them. Its a game now they move forward we move forward.
