The game cant compare your progress to someone elses outta nowhere if it WASNT USING YOUR CONNECTION!

And just because you were an on site tech doesnt mean a thing, did i bother to mention my 12 years of experience with PCs? no i didnt and yet you for some reason or another had to include your supposed experience? Yeah, Ok.

In the meantime try running steam in offline mode.

I can't even access the online options and haven't had a single message about anything online from there.

Ty for confirming that.

Must have something to do with Steam Works i suppose.

Being in Offline mode may be the only way to make a trainer and use one if you are always connected with everyone else.

Wonder whos bright fn idea that was.

If you cannot post without the condescending tone, please do not bother to post at all.

And yes Steam does use a consistent connection (it is how you know when someone messages you or comes online/offline the instant they perform that action). An example of a program that does not use a consistent connection is Microsoft Outlook (which you can receive e-mails much later than they were sent to you if you use it instead of the web interface to check your e-mail). The only exception to this is to play with Steam in offline mode.

Um excuse me? i was stating what i found and the guy insults my intelligence while i was trying to explain something that he obviously didnt understand, why exactly didnt he get a warning for calling me a moron which would be insulting hmm? he insulted, i didnt.

im not talking about Steam using the connection for messages and such guys, im talking about the game constantly using your connection to check for other players and being constantly used because of it.

Okay.. Look..

im not talking about intermitant stay alive pings, im talking about an actual constant connection, you know how your internet activity is when you are say, downloading a game, movie, in video chat etc? Thats the kind of activity the game uses, its not intermitant its constant.

Atleast look into what im talking about before you call me an idiot :|

And yes as Cormoran confirmed the only way Steam/The game does not constantly use your connection while PLAYING the game is if your in offline mode.
