Dragon Age II Message Board  

To anyone else who purchased their copy of the game from Direct2Drive, are you having trouble using the cheat console? Whether I create a short cut that is directed to DragonAge2.exe with the necessary changes made to it, or whether I edit the DragonAge2Launcher.xml properly (the two options available), I canNOT get the cheat console to work at all. It just won't open. I can't get it to work binding new keys, I can't get it to work leaving the default key binding, etc. I just can't get it to work, period. Nothing happens when I try to use the cheat console in-game.

Edit: And let me point out that I know the console is supposed to be invisible, just like it was with DA:O, but nothing happens when I try to use it. Nothing at all.

Any chance you could post your DragonAge2Launcher.xml for me to look at? It's possible there's just a small syntax issue.

Thanks for trying to help me! I JUST figured out what my problem was. Apparently I need to just use the default keybinding and not try to change it at all. I deleted my KeyBindings.ini and let the game generate a new one and it worked when I used the "`" key. Thanks again! I think maybe they should have just left out the whole "keybinding" part out of the instructions all together and just told people to use the "`" key. lol

Hmm console is invisible interesting. I do remember something about res making the console seem invisible but. To the reason why its not showing on D2D copy am not sure as pretty much got both to run on steam and non steam copies. Taelus might be right on the .xml might have an issue. But I cant really think of anything different that could cause a problem for it to work on a D2D copy.
