Some mixed opinions, but debate is good. Guns is very easily handled. I get my hands on them a lot, and I also buy mods (even when I don't have the weapon) so I can mod weapons when I do get them. Strapping an AMR to Boone conflicts with my extreme silenced nature of combat. I'd have to give him a modified Sniper rifle.

How is Cass on taking armor? I haven't gotten to a point to take Raul yet so I'm unsure about him. My friend plays without Hardcore set and annoys me with her "Unconscious again!" complaints whereas it's more permanent for us.

my current companion is ED-E, the bot you repair in Primm.

I would say the combo of ED-E and Boone together is the best for a sniper build. ED-E gives you that extra long range enemy sensor and Boone is one deadly guy with an Antimaterial rifle.
