I feel bad for the poor bastards who run this website. Answering questions, day in and day out, that simply require a small portion of common sense and a desire to not go running to a forum thread to raise hell. Makes me pleased to give them money every year. They deserve it.
I disagree. But what is worse are the bastards that post they seem to know this 'common sense' answer but would rather donate to CH then help. I don't feel bad for CH just unhappy I can't seem to unravel the problem myself.
One conclusion that may work is not to play any game in the future over a year old or more with a trainer and expect anyone to have the patience to help _one_ person on that game that is of no interest to anyone anymore.
P.S. I've abandoned the trainer for the in-game console cheats which seem to work fine with the controller--solves both problems at once.

Wow... Plenty of egg to go around on me. Not using IE10 so I deactivated and uninstalled it (apparently properly and very easily with IE reverting back to IE9) and guess what? The silly TW2 trainer 1.3.5. runs fine! I'll try using it in the game later today.
When looking for trainers or problems with trainers I've always approached the forums here directly with the particular game--never looking or finding such things as, "Windows 8 and/or IE10 and Trainers"...not even when Caliber posted recently about another game with similar 'problems'.
To hopefully sooth the wounds I've given PWizard a big donation.

One thing that contributed was that Microsoft seems to be aggressively pushing out IE10. Usually there's a lag time that measures months from when they release an official download link on the IE home page and when they push it as a required update through Microsoft Update. Since IE10 looks almost identical to IE9 and that several people don't use IE in favor of an alternative browser, it almost goes unnoticed.
Velvet Edition (v1.3.7) seems to crash when using the trainer
bummer.. we don't own the velvet edition... and further have no clue why the developers created a velvet edition 2 years after the original game released..
