What's the point of setting ED-E to range and passive if he charges at everything while defeating the purpose of having trained up stealth skill.
You know you can tell him to stay put
Ya but that defeats the purpose of having a companion if all of them are dumb as rocks and you have to tell them to "wait here" 500 yards before you get into every fight.

Well I just done it there told him to be passive and stay back. He will still attack only if they get in range, He wont charge in either. So I can only guess you might have a glitch.
