It's the steam trainer that gave me the issue with the predator energy issue, sorry that I didn't mention it earlier. I'll download the new trainer that you just mentioned and see if that helps.
merely activate trainer and walk into the elevator for a crash. I had Health and Ammo+Items active.
Forgot to mention the first time that I'm using the DX11 version of the game.

*edit 2*
Shortly after the crash mentioned, there's another crash in the next elevator after defending the tunnel where the marines try to climb over debris and get killed by aliens. Proceed with that save normally, then activate the trainer after getting past the first elevator crash point, and use the cheats to get through to the next elevator, which it will crash the game when you enter it.

Unfortunately these random crashes on events like this are caused by the anti-cheat protection that I spoke of previously. We could fix the elevator crash but then the game would detect that we changed it and crash next time you turned left or picked up health pack B, etc etc.
We've honestly done our best with this title, it's just that the game developers REALLY, REALLY, REALLY don't want you to cheat in the single player game for some reason. We can't get in a tug of war fight with them as ultimately they control the game updates and will simply make our hard work moot at the touch of a button.
I usually don't recommend it, but using the no-cd fix in this instance may be your best bet for a 100% working trainer.

gunfighter_6 would you happen to have Kaspersky Internet Security? If you do, do you know that its process name is AVP.exe and thats another process you could kill to allow the trainer to work.
