I'm thinking I might put up a pdf somewhere with detailed screenshots showing you how to edit the stats. However I noticed that when selecting patch3.pack to edit, it shows patch2.pack as being currently edited. I just assumed patch3.pack was a new patch over patch2 but patch3 is 127mb while patch2 is 571mb so patch3 must not be a complete new patch overiding patch2. Anwway, I am saying that weirdly enough when selecting patch3 in the DBEditor to edit, it's actually patch2.pack that you are editing.

I think the difference between patch 2 and 3 is the new units through downloaded content as well as changes to previous units from patch 2. That's why I pull the patch 2 out of the data folder and put it on the desktop before I edit the patch 3 file.

In the patch 3 file and look for this line...
    units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions_tables\units_to_exclusive_faction_permissions
    It's right under units_tables\units
Click faction_IDRef on the top and it will alphabetically list them. After that, click on the availability arrow and select true. Now look for Britain... That's all the units that is exclusive in the game when you play as that faction. I would use the Prt Scr button and save it on paint, would be faster than copy/paste. Only use the true Britain as the false ones are used by other factions usually under a differ heading.
Now you need to go to the following tabs:
    units_table\units
    units_stats_naval_tables\unit_stats_naval
    units_stats_land_tables\unit_stats_land
Edit the units accordingly and you should be set...
Remember to have the read only checked of and backups checked under the file tab on the top left of the editor. Revert back to this thread for any tips as on how to do it....

I put a short tutorial on page 4 towards the bottom. I know m8tal has posted unit stats in this forum, I asked him the same question.

    How to max stats

    unit_stats_land_tables\unit_stats_land

    Example:euro_line_infantry_Britain

Look for the column headings along the top>change accuracy to 100, reloading skill to 100, charge bonus to 100, melee skill to 100, defense skill to 100, morale to 100 so they never ever rout.

For range change the projectile entry from musket_flintlock to musket_breech_loader to extend range from 80 to 125. If you want to extend the range even more go to projectiles_tables\projectiles and scroll down to musket_breech loader to change the range entry from 125 to whatever range you want.

The ferguson_riflemen _ (Britain) are the only unit that use musket_breech_loader so you should be ok to change the range to an insane amount without fearing that some other unit will have the same range as you.

Editing ship stats can be tricky because most countries have the same ships so you have to edit a ship that your country has and no other country has otherwise your max stat ship will also be recruitable for your enemies. A good alternative to this problem is getting the special forces addon if you like playing as Britain and want infinite HMS victory ships because HMS Victory is only recruitable by the British.

If you have the special forces addon, navigate to unit_tables\units and scroll down to sp_ed_hms_victory_admiral and change unit limit from 1 to 0 for infinite recruit.

Then go to unit_stats_naval_tables\unit_stats_naval and scroll down to sp_ed_hms_victory_admiral.

Change morale, hull strength (not the third column, the hull strenght value you edit is the very last culumn, scroll all the way to the right), reloading skill and accuracy.

That's all there is to it. I do advise though that you make your edits into a mod rather than editing the patch directly. Why? Well think how fun it is steamrolling over France while playing as the British then later on wondering why your getting your butt kicked by the British playing as France If you edit the patch directly you are permanently changing unit stats. However if you make small mods for yourself, you can drop them in and delete them when you play as different factions.

If you edited the patch2 file already, you need to pull that out of the data folder onto your desktop and then open the patch3 file and edit the stats ( under the patch3 file) again. The patch3 file has all the unit stats that they made changes to plus the new stats due to the new units from steams dlc. Patch3 will override the old patch2 if the unit exists in it. Understand? Remember to put the pactch2 file back into the data folder before you restart the game.
Hope this helps, don't know how to explain it any further...
