There are plenty of hacks to play Halo 2 on XP, but none of them allow a proper connection to Live (and you cannot register the game, which means you have to crack the activation, and there's no online play). Since there is no proper connection to Live, you also get hit with that annoying message explaining that you are not on the same level that Live says you are, and you'll see it at the beginning of every level (and often in the middle of cutscenes, which completely messes them up).
I'm curious about the aforementioned patch from Microsoft that allows playing on XP. I cannot find anything like it, so
Microsoft have released a patch for XP, just google it and you'll find it.

Seriously, take the hint, stop trying to post Illegal links.... if you cant follow the forum rules, dont bother posting.
and if microsoft releasing Halo 2 for Vista only doesnt make sense to you.. well you try learning programing, then work a few years on a new operating system, would you not like to get payed for your work?? they reason they made Halo 2 Visto only is to get more people to Upgrade to Vista, YES Its and Upgrade!! so microsoft can meet their budget for the year and not go bankrupt (although not likely that will happend from just this) but still, same goes for pirating games... try being a devoloper for a game, putting a few YEARS of your life into sitting infront of a screen staring at Endless lines of code, wouldnt you like to know those years where worth it? stop whining and bit your lip... developers are people too!
Vista is an upgrade for those using 64-bit , dual-core and Quad-core processors, if your using single core, 32-bit processor, your better off in XP, or upgrade. Vista may need a bit more power from your computer, but the stablity and non- compatability people are complaining about is Non-existant Vista is great, Sure there are a few things that will bug you... but wasnt it the same with XP in the first few months? or is everybody gonna be ignorant and ignore that thier 'child' had flaws at the beginning too?
And no... im not getting payed to say things like this, personally, i would never consider going back to XP...
