Here's the video. I tried to upload it as an attachment, but it looks like I made it too heavy, despite choosing 720p. Thanks again!

What Proton version you using in STL? To look it up just scroll down to the proton version in game menu on STL screen.

I showed that uncensored around 1:58 in the video just before launching DDV with STL. In any case, it's GE-P8-22 for both STL and ASD. I tried to make 'em the same for testing, so they're working on equal footing, although I'm still not eliminating the possibility of user error.

Thanks I missed that part in the video. I haven't played with the Steam Deck tool much to see what's impacting some games to not have aurora launch. If I find anything I'll let you know.

Thanks, I also realize that my phrasing wasn't very kind and that it's somewhat a big ask to have a stranger (who's just trying to help) watch your silly, boring video on tech issues, so my bad, sorry, and I thank you for your time!

Ive installed Nier Automata on my Steamdeck. Then I selected Aurora Launcher as compat tool. Then I clicked on Launch. SD tool ran game initialization with Proton 7. Then SD tool restarted and launched game and Aurora with Proton 7. So on my end everything works perfectly fine

I believe the issue is somehow on your end. Maybe you should reinstall the game and delete the whole .local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/524220 folder (this is for Nier Automata).

    Hello,

I am unable to get this installer to work properly for Debian 12 install on my gaming rig/laptops.

The file path for the install is for the steam deck only.

    Please develop 2 additional installers.

1.) One for native Debian 12 install that tosses the file in: /home/username/.steam/debian-installation/steamapps/common/

2.) One for all other distros that uses the flatpak/flathub install path in:
    /home/username/.var/app/com/valvesoftware.Steam/steamapps/common/

I really do like the development efforts.

    Regards,

I didn't know Debian was support on the steam deck.

Greetings! I deleted that folder's contents as instructed, and then I attempted to fire Automata up again, but unfortunately, it still didn't work.

For that test, I chose P7 to match your testing environment as much as I could. I also ran a few more tests after downloading more Steam updates around Proton and verifying the installation.

I then reinstalled ASD tool and pre-emptively closed Steam before the installation before running another test. Unfortunately, this, too, did not work.

After that, I deleted Automata's compatdata and then reinstalled the whole game from scratch, but it ended the same way. I even deleted the Automata folder in steamapps\common.

Although it still doesn't launch Aurora, I'll be sure to empty that folder for every subsequent test. Thanks a ton for the continued aid!
