Not sure is it just me but adding more effects to armours don't work for me too.

However armour contains 6 effects while weapons only 2.

same here cant change effect amount of weps AND armor
and idd lame that weps only have max 3 while armor has max 7 (only 1 shield has 7 effects dunno combination sorry)

and for the modders out there i have an question,
ive bin modding for an while now and notice a lot of unwanting results like:
adding 75% chance to burn enemy that attack you
later change that effect to +30%dmg
after that change the first effect is still on ME
not on the armor anymore but on my char
i went fully nude and everything dies when it touches me and i do 70k dmg with UNARMED ... meaning that all changes you make are permanent on your body and no longer on your armor

an tip to avoid this is to completely unequip everything(including weapons) THEN save and mod the save

if you DONT have this problem then ignore this
if you WANT to have this problem use with precausion it CANT be undone so make a wise decision.

hope i am of help to some with this info.

haha wow I feel like I'm back in Diablo 2 with this kind of item editing. I can't help but remember fondly the UdieToo editor that featured hex editing assigned automatically to a dropbox of attributes you could click to and just add with ease. the editor would assign the hex values automatically according to the attribute you selected from the dropbox.

this is definitely a great game to kill time with until Diablo 3 comes out

I found that using hexedit to search for all values of "00 ff ff ff ff" while being centered on my armor, I found by scrolling up or down from there, all my other armor aside from my amulet. Also, rings that I didn't have equipped did not show up, though unequipped armor of other types did. I have yet to see if the slots are set strings or not though. You can't tell the names of the items either, so it's kind of trial and error, and being that the rings don't have durability values after the effect addresses they aren't as recognizable but they are there.

As far as my other weapons... For some reason I could only find 1 scrolling up and down (too far down leads to the armor anyway) from my created weapon. So it IS possible to change effects and durability on items you did not create, it's just harder to find them. If you want screens lemme know and I'll post them. All items other than set items change to purple after a certain amount of effects are added. Set items don't change color but gain effects. I'll keep playing around and see if I can't let you know if strings stay the same, and where to find your amulet values...

Just wondering if there's a way to give me say, 99 of every item in my inventory, more specifically the crafting materials. Searched 100's of webpages and there are lots of mod "X" item into "Y" but I don't want god mode daggers with 30 different stats on it. I still want to craft my own items but decent crafting materials are hard to come by and leaves me not wanting to experiment and see what kinds of cool stuff I can create.

actually, the trainer can do that for you; but, it only give a total of ten for each and every crafting component, sage component, consumables, and whatever is in your inventory. you might wanna be careful on using this feature when you open up your inventory; because, once it's done it cannot be undone.

see Caliber's post here Link about multiply (or duping) items.

also, you can actually "freeze" the crafting components, pots, and sagecraft components as well via the trainer. after activating the trainer, press the "." (period) key for unlimited items/projectiles. this will prevent your items from decreasing; e.g., you have 10 pristine fire and after crafting a gem, rather than 9 you still have 10. basically you'll never run out...lol.

    hope this helps

That sounds interesting but I'd probably go that route as a last resort. I did the hexedit mod so I have like 4 million bagspace. Space wouldn't be an issue however having 10 of every item would be a win lose situation because there is some junk that i def dont want. The searstalk quest bugged on me and dude is trapped inside the staircase and I can't abandon the quest or ditch the quest item. That's just one example of a minor inconvenience though and minor it is. Another side of it is that some things I have TONS of, such as alchemy items, and I'd lose all but 10 however they'd be unlimited BUT forcing me to have the trainer active at all times. Again, doable but less than ideal. In any event I'm pretty committed to finding a way to make this work and if the trainer is the only way for it to happen then so be it. The links on this website are all "free to unlimited memebers" and I'm not. Where would i go about finding this particular trainer? Also, I have the Best Buy retail version and reading through the forum you linked, it states that the trainer is for the demo of the game. Will it work? I have the Shepard DLC and Mass Effect Demo daggers as well.

unfortunately, you will need to rely on the trainer to freeze the value from lowering beyond the default 10. as for hex editing the values of each item, you will need to do a whole lot of searching in hex. i'm not sure many of us are doing that at the moment, and we are relying on the trainer to do what i previous stated above. sorry, i can't help you there.

i know for a fact that browsing around my saved game in hex, i came across some "components" -- the word and not the name of what those components were. as for the alchemy crafting, i haven't seen them nor browse for them, yet.
