Looks like the game has a bug unrelated to the trainer. At some point after getting the tremor gauntlet I can no longer equip the crossblade. I've tried everything I can think of but the game refuses to equip it. If I load an older save before the tremor gauntlet it equips fine. Damned if I feel like redoing 2 hours worth of game play but I'm stuck at a point that requires the crossblade to continue.
Absolutely. It works fine on an older save game. You can swap around the crossblade while in the inventory and it'll show as equipped but as soon as you exit inventory it shows the horn. I've tried reassigning the keys for giggles too. I hit 1 and it shows the crossblade in the pop up and it makes a clicking noise but it never equips it.
Try this: If one of the gear gets stuck, enter Chaos mode and press + or - to change the gear, then leave Chaos mode.
I had this problem too. And I spent 3 hours looking for a solution. Still, my last save was 6 hours ago. Oh and there is another way to enter Chaos mode: Caps Lock + Middle Mouse Button. It's only mentioned in the game once, and nowhere else.

I couldn't equip the Crossblade and it was stuck on the EarthCaller, so I entered Chaos Form, switched to EarthCaller, and presto, now Normal Form can freely switch gear again ^w^
