    Everyone has the following choices:
    1. Stay Good
    2. Get Good
    3. Give Up

The obvious choice right now is to stop smoking if you're going to quit. It's going to suck, but if you really want to change, you're going to have to summon the strength to ignore your body's cravings until it gets used to not being with smoking.

The computer science principle applies to you as well:
-If you have a large and/or complex problem, then don't solve it. Break that complex problem into small and simple problems and solve those one at a time. Your picture will slowly, but eventually become corrected.

The sad part is that there is no trick, I have been trying to quit for the last 5 months and failed. The only thing that can make you stop smoking is determination, you must find your determination and you will stop smoking naturally. I have yet to find mine before I stop.

I wanted to add that if you want to talk to someone that cares, internet is not the place.

You're exaggerating your problems. Things aren't nearly as bad as you think they are. Just wait it out until you feel better, and if need be, quit smoking.

I smoke and I drink all the time and I have friends and get women. Hmmm.

Was that comment really necessary Serivor? Or are you drunk, AGAIN.

Anyway evilascended, I'm sorry to hear about your family, and it is a very difficult to not mourn the loss of a loved one. But think about it this way, Would any of your family members that recently passed want you to "give up?". I don't think they would if you have some sort of affection for them. Life has many struggles, but it's so much sweeter when you get past difficult times. It may be awhile, but don't ever give up.

You need to find other things to occupy your time and get you out and socialising. Once you have your timetable filled then you will not have time for bad habits and you will be out and about meeting people (its pretty unavoidable) and off you go into the world

Neo7 has a very good point. I've been suffering from mental illness for the past 3 years, and I've never tried to solve the whole thing. I broke it into pieces, then solved one piece at a time.

You should start by doing that, try to find something that encourages you to keep doing it (hopefully good), and solve your problems one at a time.

You won't be seeing any revolutionary difference at first, but if you keep solving the small ones, you'll get there.

All the best wishes to you and I hope you'll give it a try. Be strong, 'cause there's always something good out there if you just keep looking.

Find a real reason to quit.

    Find something to reduce stress.

    Stop smoking.

Use something to get your Nicotine fix.

    Be free of cigarettes.

Work on somthing else in your life.

    ????

    Profit.

If I were in your position(being addicted to cigarettes and wanting to quit) I think the easiest way for me would be cold turkey but smoke blunts of weed. You can still be smoking so you dont think about it constantly, so that just leaves the chemical addiction. I say cold turkey because you have to think of it as every cigarette you smoke is just killing your lungs further.
