That line, "This has to be a very special item" EVERY TIME I PICK SOMETHING UP is really starting to get annoying...I don't suppose anyone knows how to change it so your character DOESN'T say this at all?
It is possible to do this, however it is a little complicated.
Here is how I did it. (And I'm sure there is an easier way to do it)
Find your Sacred2 Install Directory. Since I have the International English version, mine is Program Files\Deep Silver\Sacred 2 - Fallen Angel
Within that folder, you should find a folder named locale
Inside that folder, is another one named after your locale. Mine is en_UK
Inside that folder you will find a file called soundresources.txt This file may be translated for your language.
Open this file in notepad or your favorite text editor.
Search for uniquefound
You will find 10 separate instances of this in the file. One for each class, good and evil. (Yes, I know there are 6 classes, and 6 x 2 is 12, but Seras can only be good and Inqs only evil)
Now, here is where it gets tricky, and is the way that I did this:
Use Audacity to create new silent files that are the same length as the originals. The length is listed in the soundresources.txt file. (for example, the uniquefound_templeguardian_bad.wav file is 3.504 seconds long)
Export this file as an Ogg Vorbis file (.ogg) and save it in the location listed in the soundresources.txt file
These folders will be placed off of the pak folder within the S2 install folder.
For example: The TG file we created above would be saved in: S2_install_folder\pak\speech\tg\
Do this for all 10 files and you have silenced them forever.
So, they HAVE to be the exact same length? Can't just create a blank sound file to put there? Bummer. Thanks so much for the info, I'll start working on this later.

I don't know if it has to be the same length or not.
Since it was listed with the length already, I went ahead and made them the same. I imagine you can just change the length values in the soundresources file and go from there.
Or you can try just putting a random length silence file there and test it out to see if it crashes. I recommend backing up your save file beforehand though in case it does.
If someone manages to pull this off, can they post them.
Are you asking for someone to post the silenced files? I can do that when I get home I suppose.
Like I said, however, I can only confirm that it is working for the English-International version as that is what I am using. No idea if it will work with any other Locales, as the files may be named different.
If someone with one of the other languages can check their soundresources.txt file, we can know for sure.
Inside this folder, right click anywhere and go down to "New". Then, go to "Text Document". This will create "New text document.txt" Inside your folder. Do it one more time, so that you have two txt files. Now, Rename the first one to:
uniquefound_dryad_bad.wav
And the second one to:
uniquefound_dryad_good.wav
Now, the druid will no longer say that annoying line every time you pick up a unique/rare item.
Repeat this process into the rest of the folders. Here are the file names:
In the HE folder: uniquefound_highelf_good.wav uniquefound_highelf_bad.wav
In the IN folder: uniquefound_inquisitor_bad.wav
In the SE folder: uniquefound_seraphim_good.wav
In the SW folder: uniquefound_shadowwarrior_good.wav uniquefound_shadowwarrior_bad.wav
In the TG folder: uniquefound_templeguardian_good.wav uniquefound_templeguardian_bad.wav
The Inquisitor and Seraphim only have one, because the INQ can't be good, and the SER can't be evil.
I am using the International English version of the game. If your file names are different, then this guide will need to be modified to match your names. Also, you will need to be able to see file extensions in order to change .txt files to .wav. MOST OF THE CREDIT FOR THIS GOES TO RAALGRA, FOR SHOWING ME THE FILE NAMES AND HOW TO REPLACE THEM. All I take credit for is creating this guide, and for figuring out that you don't have to create files of the exact same size as the originals.
