the counter parts to the spiker are the needler and the s.m.g.

The counterparts are the SMG and Plasma Rifle.

I'll leave this question open for a while unless someone wants to grab the bonus points.

Alright...the affiliation for the three weapons are the Humans have the SMG, the Brutes have the Spiker and the Elites have the Plasma Rifle. Point goes to SuperSkyline.

LOL, I just downloaded the vidoc that goes over the story of Halo CE and 2 today and this was in it.

He was the prophets' "assassin". He was supposed to kill the heretic's that found out that the great journey is just a bunch or crap. But he accepted the truth and started the Covenant Civil War.

That is true...but I was looking for the Arbiter in general...meaning ALL the Arbiters.

Hint: What type of missions were they sent on?

Wasn't it some sort of mission which promised them martyrdom? Like a suicide mission, one with impossible odds to succeed?
