I'd love to see that option as well.

I find it quite disturbing at times, especially when in the flood levels, when i'm on my own or with a huge bunch of guys who get mauled in seconds and i stand there wondering wtf??
Do these guys get any military training.

yes i would really like this feature too!... also, for halo 1, can someone tell me how to use the halo map tools properly to make my marines indestructable coz i drive recklessly and always kill my marines... and i really dont know how to use map tools its not a thing to fiddle with... ive had to reinstall it coz last time i fiddled with halo map tools, on the pillar of autumn the pistol only has 2 shots and the assault rifle doesnt exist so my marines are unarmed and getting killed (on legendary btw) and i run out of ammo and have to kill them with pistol melee. for some reason i appear to be able to walk up walls and on the ceiling and i cant work out why 🤔

I 'm in for the option to have immortal AI buddy cause i'm up to the point on taking out regret the prophet but getting killed before get near him beacuse my AI buddies are dead before getting there and i need someone to fight off the honour guards with swords to get the chance to complete the level

Too bad everyone has given up on the game, there were a set of modding tools being made by a few members of the community, which might have allowed you to mod the marines health, but the guys simply gave up

There's this app called Mr. Mohawk (current version is 1.2 I think) and you can do some pretty basic stuff with it.
I switched the collision models around like I did with Halo 1 PC, but it still doesn't make the allies immortal... However, it does make their hitbox a lot smaller - Well, that actually depends on what collision model you swap theirs with, I tried a garbage smg magazine and their hitbox is now located in their stomach (centre of their model) and it's really small so you don't need to worry about projectiles very much as the AI always tries to go for the head, but grenades and melee on the other hand...
If you switch your buddies biped (or yours for that matter) with mirandas - Who is immortal in the game all the time - can you make them truly immortal, BUT it gets REALLY annoying when you have a bunch of clones following you (or the fact that you look like a girl in third person). This leads me to believe that the immortality setting is somewhere within the biped section (if I recall correctly even in Halo 1 PC there was a "deathles player"-option in the biped section when modding with HMT) BUT another thing bugs me is that Johnson is immortal too in the game, but I don't think that he uses mirandas biped but a regular marines biped, so there has to be a immortality setting somewhere else in the map files. I tried switching the characters AI but I got an error every time.
Too bad the tools haven't developed enough for you to look at and mod different values within the sections of the map files, instead all we can do right now is swap them around.

but also mayb imortal cuz the shield thing we get i keep getting shot in the bak or stabd cuz honr gardz

Gravemind, Beta still but I figured out how to make your buddies (and yourself if you want to) Immortal to all damage!!!

1: Get Gravemind.
2: Open it.
3: Open desired map (Single-Player ONLY, the ones starting with numbers)
4: Go to section [hlmt]
5: Select desired character (marine, MC, Arbiter, elite etc...)
6: Right-Click on the middle space and choose "Meta Editor"
7: Tick the box "Cannot Die From Damage"
8: Save, and repeat for any other map, or another character etc.

NOTE: you and they still take damage, but you CAN'T die.
