was just trying to address the comment that the US version doesn't have the console it does the cheat faq acknowledges that even after following the creation of the folder and setting to true there is still no guarantee that it will work for everyone

english keyboards use the ` or ¬ key (key under esc) as the default key not ~ this should solve your problem

Thanks for trying, but no, it doesn't solve the problem. There is no console no matter which key you press.

dude,im having the same problem,when i press the ~ button,there are console showed on my screen but the console seems kinda corrupted and i cant activate the cheat when i type it on screen.the console kinda black with virus kinda words dat i cant read.help me pls.

Ok I am back and can finally take the time to play Gothic 3 again. The end of last year I was trying to get the console to show and I finally figured it out. However, that was last year and my memory is vague. I don't recall how I got the console to work but I must of altered or added a file that was shipped with the US version. I went to my old computer and could access the console, but I couldn't on my new computer. I am going to compare the files one by one to see what the difference is between the two and I will get back with you guys to fill you in on the find.

I can say this, the console isn't displayed any different from how everybody else is doing it, which is enter marvin mode and then hit the ~ key. The key to the left of 1. I will try to find out what is needed to display the console on my new comp.

if it's something wrong with the console then u should try to edit the ge3.ini file in the Gothic3/Ini folder and search for:
[Game]
TestMode=false

and change the frase "false" to "true" like this:

[Game]
TestMode=true

after you done this, in the game, press ~(tilde) to open up the console. for me this trick it works but for you...well....try to find another way to open up the console

im haveing the same problem, marvin mode/testmode in on, all the other commands work for test mode but the console wont open, i was looking in the controls.ini at the debug commands and notice there isnt a key listed to open the console would one of you the have the console working mind looking to see if theirs has a key listed and if so what does it look like? (ex. openconsole=` or enableconsole=~ or anything of that sort)

If your using the Testmode=True version you have no need to use Marvin mode, but as always try updating.
