I just signed up and downloaded Aurora portable to give it a try, but am a little concerned that 3 vendors on Virus Total flagged the file as containing a trojan. I searched this board but didn't find any mention of this. Any idea why this is happening? If there are millions of users, shouldn't the hashes be on file with all the security vendors? Sorry if this has come up before, but I'm a little hesitant to install it, as most trojans these days are extremely bad news.

Hi fgr33n.
That's is a false positive. Not sure why it would flag at all as it's just files. I know older trainers got flagged a lot due to the nature they are made, but Aurora is a program. It's all safe so nothing to worry about.

This is VERY NORMAL, Aurora is digitally signed and there is absolutely no danger in using it. We have no control over some random AV vendors decide to start detecting as a virus but we will reach out to them to try and get them to clear us. We have been in business for 23 years in January and no one of our MILLIONS of members has ever got any kind of virus or otherwise from our site. That is the best I can offer.

BTW, I just checked and I have never even heard of these tiny AV vendors that are flagging us. Ignore.

We are selling a service which includes access to trainers. this is where we are making money from. We don't have ANY kind of interest in your personal data this even includes our free trial and free demo trainers.
We sign our files. This is like we left our ID on it. I don't know any thieves who have left their ID behind. Unfortunately we can sign files but we still have to trust AV vendors taking this into decision. Not every vendor is doing this.
10 years ago bad products got blacklisted. Nowadays everyone gets blacklisted and you have to fight yourself to get whitelisted. Not much to say except that if you have to PAY for a product nowadays its less likely they want to take and sell your data.

We have looked further into these unknown AV vendors. They are from China and Russia. One of them actually sets off about 20 AV alerts on VT and is blocked by Defender when you try and install it. You are 99.9% more likely to GET A VIRUS from these so-called AV vendors. So hilarious. Another one of them their website is completely broken and unaccesible, we had to search out some old mirror. Why VT even allows this crap on their site is unknown. Maybe they are paying them. If ANYONE puts any kind of trust in these AVs, I feel very sorry for them. We could make a better AV....... hmmmm.....

Thanks everyone for the answers-- I've DL'ed the app and am looking forward to giving it a try. Chris: I never even considered that virus total would allow bogus security vendors, so that is quite an eye opener. I'm going to be more discerning in the future when using it. Thanks for the heads up.
