This trainer is apparently being used to cheat tournament mode. Someone supposedly is getting all holes in one. If it's not the trainer from here then it's Cosmos or CoSMOS. It would be weird if it won't work on career but it does on an actual online ranked mode.
This is a bold statement. There are literally dozens of ways and programs that can be used to hack games, including people making their own programs. We won't be blamed for cheaters that go online as if WE are the cause of this and it can ONLY be us who caused some sort of problem.
What all this is doing, is making us consider to just drop the title

Does this work in career mode on the scorecard?
this happens if you try to reset the stroke AFTER you play it, press 1 first then play your shot it resets on the next shot
Does it work for Career mode? It's not working at EA PLAY.

According to EA Sports themselves they stated "CAREER MODE is an offline mode that will be playable at launch (but will require an online connection). You’ll hear more about that during our career mode deep dive in the coming weeks." I am not sure what that fully means but they stated Offline at the beginning but it also says in needs Online Connection which is confusing.

trainer cannot find game. Can't even start trainer. What next?

Need a bit more info from you. You say first the trainer cannot find the game, then that you can't start the trainer. These two, at least in my head, contradicts themself as you need the trainer running to attempt to find game.
That being said. Where in the game are you trying to use it? The readme has a very clear note about this "Trainer is for OFFLINE and PLAYER VS CPU modes. Won't work for online, or any modes that use server or has leaderboard, or uses online components."
Might you be in conflict with this when you trying?
This was working about a week ago for me, I was on steam. Now I'm getting this. The game has had an update or two since I installed the trainer, but it worked up until a week ago. Maybe the latest update broke it?

Since you mention it had updates and you getting an AOB error you would have to post an update request.
Please use the update notification system to report a game patch, update or to report that the trainer may not be working with the latest version of the game. If 3 or more reports have been filed, consider BOOSTING the priority of this title for a faster turnaround on the updated trainer.
