Stadia is the latest company gaming platform to try and sell you games and have it streamed to your screen. Everyone will remember the other company that try this years ago and it failed i said at the time it wont last the same applies for Stadia. What is your opinion? stadia.google.com/games

Game streaming can become popular on Consoles because of the harddrive and hardware limitations and because you cannot use mods on console games, at least not in the same way.

But on PC Stadia has no chance, especially because you need to purchase all games and loose them all at once, once you cancel your Stadia membership, congratulations.

This did not work out in the past, I don't know if it will work this time. We had OnLive back in 2011 I believe. I used it from time to time to try games with it when I had a weaker PC.

OnLive closed down in 2015 after Sony bought some parts of it, and it was not too popular. It all comes down to popularity. Google will not run this service long unless they make money out of it. As for me, I won't even be thinking of getting this service.

Amazon is making one now LoL, they have not yet even released a game and the one they did was killed off and being removed from the market. They all last as long as they pump $ into them. I see another for the google graveyard in Stadia. Of course every Billion dollar company needs a lose for tax purposes.

I think it will outlast onlive only because Google is pumping money into it even though it might be making loses. But at some point Google will closed it down.

I give them 5 years before they closed it down. They should have learn from Onlive that this isn't going to work. Nothing has change since Onlive closed down.

i will repeat here the same thing i wrote on NEOGAF, stadia can last really long time or really short time, is a matter of strategy, if they will include ALL games for mobile in the subscription, so that you can play your "phone games" on your TV , than the number of subscribers may be enough to hold their ground. but if they are going full speed ahead against XBOX, PS, Nintendo and PC, and try to compete on the same field only, it will be a full speed ahead against a wall.
