I absolutely despise antivirus devs and this comes from a college student that STUDIED cybersecurity. I specifically asked them on a tech support chat once when they said they couldn't fix something right away where they hid their exclusion list on the AV program and they tried to tell me "there is none that feature doesn't exist" like I was a complete idiot that shouldn't know or be trusted to use the list to allow my own programs I want to bypass the AV system. Lo and behold after I called them out on their BS and they still refused, I did a deep dive and checked all the advanced settings and found an exclusion list that supposedly wasn't a feature to add all of my trainers to. They treat everyone on support like they are too stupid to have the information they request for utilizing software they paid for. Is there any way to use an exlusion list on WEBROOT to bypass the issue?

I just said screw it and went to Avast.
That is a correct response when it comes to WebRoot. That thing is a dead tech.

Webroot is not even a AV product i would even suggest to use.
There are only a few good products available which actually are able to catch most nasty products out there.
But to defend the AV makers each day hundreds new versions are released in the wild, if one has made a totally new virus/trojan it is really hard to find them in the act.
So they choose the easy option and stop everything what behaves suspicious, not the best for the client.
But ensures that something what is actually doing something special gets stopped in the act, and then they should look was it really something i had to stop...
That last part lacks by most AV makers, thats simply too much work for them.
Because earning money is more important, thats also why most products really are hunting more for products which hurt the makers of programs in general like serial hacks and so on. Or the famous hacks of windows and office serials.
Thats most of their work so far as i have seen.
But to be honest the only program i trust to find Virus products is Malwarebytes which catches pretty much alot before it becomes active.
The sad thing is that the only way to become secure is to get a license and that is what i had many years huge problems with.
I had bought for 3 years on 5 computers but had constant issues with the license suddenly being lost or not willing to update.
So for now i just scan kinda every week and try to stay away from sinister programs which really are not often what most people think they get ( HINT "stay away from hacks to get free pro software".
As i also do not like people sharing the products they get here as well.
The fact that the programmers needed to add extra security says enough.
