To each and every one of you gals and guys ... a big thank you!
I really needed the time off from the daily brain poop of certain individuals. The part, where 1 PC game trainer can roll back one's attitude towards others to pre-neanderthal level and think that this is appropriate. I got overwhelmed by this shape shifting behavior in the end and didn't see any other way than to take a clean break from it.
Thinking about all the stuff and progression that happened here in the last couple of years and meet one of the best crowd of people ever on the web, again, thank you all for your kind words, encouragement and support in the past 2 weeks.
I'm sure plenty of us heard some kids replying to their mom or dad (or both): "I hate you, I hate you...I hate you!" because they didn't get what they wanted; exact same thing here, but if you get 10.000 kids telling you the same everyday, it can get on your nerves.
It's good to see you come back with an enhanced armored back protection Mr Taurusplopp
Just a side note, all of your nice words has allowed Taurusplopp to reconsider and take back both his mod and support status. So, I appreciate everyone that sent out their thanks to let him know that the site is not just filled with a-holes but also with a ton of kind, appreciative people that you just often don't hear from as they don't have anything to complain about. You guys are awesome and we have the best community one could hope for (minus the a-holes).
Welcome back Taurusplopp.
He deserves it. Though every community has it's aholes. Even in physical space. It's just about not letting them get a foothold.
Excellent welcome back Tauruplopp. Perhaps CH can implement a zero-tolerance policy for fools and entitled narcissistic behaviour? The only problem is who would police that? Anyways its clear from this thread that there are heaps of cool and lovely people here who hopefully balance the other fools here. Take care
We used to have one... where basically unless you were being a total tool you got one warning then a removal.

Zero-tolerance policies do nothing but backfire. If we make a mistake (and we do), it looks bad on us and rolling back that mistake costs more. Additionally it can scare people away as reputation spreads by word of mouth.
The best defense is to ignore them and show them the door. It sucks and does zap the life out of you but that is the nature of customer facing responsibility. What really helps us out is when the community helps defend when they see it although this is hard and many strike out far too harshly which hurts the image more. Professionalism and formality are keys to driving unruly out and letting them know they're not fitting in with the community.
